All photographs, videos, graphics, logos, text, designs, and other content displayed on this website are the exclusive property of Matt Rice, unless otherwise noted. All content is protected by United States copyright and intellectual property laws.

No content may be copied, reproduced, distributed, modified, published, or used for commercial purposes without the prior written consent of Matt Rice.

Service Information

Matt Rice strives to ensure that all pricing, package descriptions, portfolio images, and service information are accurate. However, information may change without prior notice, and we reserve the right to modify or discontinue services at any time.

Portfolio images showcase previous work and are intended as examples only. Every photography session is unique, and specific poses, lighting conditions, weather, locations, or artistic outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Booking & Payment

Photography sessions are not confirmed until any required deposit has been received and a separate service agreement has been signed or confirmed in writing (such as via email).

Pricing, payment schedules, cancellation policies, turnaround times, and deliverables are governed by mutual understanding either verbally or in writing (such as via email).

Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

• Arrive on time for scheduled sessions.

• Obtain any required permissions for private locations.

• Ensure all participants follow venue rules and applicable laws.

• Supervise all minors throughout the session.

• Communicate any special requests before the session begins.

Matt Rice reserves the right to end a session if conditions become unsafe, illegal, or abusive.

Assumption of Risk

Photography sessions may take place at athletic fields, gyms, stadiums, schools, parks, campuses, or other indoor and outdoor locations. Participation may involve ordinary risks, including uneven terrain, athletic activity, weather conditions, crowds, or other environmental hazards.

By participating in a photography session, clients voluntarily assume these normal risks.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Matt Rice, Framed By Matt, its owner, employees, contractors, and representatives shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from:

• Participation in a photography session.

• Weather delays or cancellations.

• Venue restrictions or closures.

• Equipment malfunction despite reasonable precautions.

• Acts of third parties.

• Loss of business opportunities, profits, data, or emotional distress.

In no event shall Matt Rice Photography's total liability exceed the total amount paid by the client for the applicable photography session.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where prohibited by applicable law.

Force Majeure

Matt Rice Photography shall not be responsible for delays or inability to perform services due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, illness, governmental actions, venue closures, transportation disruptions, or other unforeseen events.

Image Usage

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Matt Rice may display photographs from completed sessions in portfolios, websites, social media platforms, promotional materials, advertising, contests, or other marketing efforts.

Clients who prefer their images not be used for promotional purposes must notify Matt Rice in writing before their scheduled session.

Third-Party Links

This website may contain links to third-party websites for convenience. Matt Rice is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or policies of those websites.

Disclaimer of Warranties

This website and all content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Governing Law

These Terms of Use and Liability Disclaimer shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Changes to These Terms

Matt Rice Photography reserves the right to update www.framedbymatt.com or modify Terms at any time. Changes become effective immediately upon posting to this website. Continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of any revised Terms.

By using this website or purchasing services from Matt Rice Photography, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Use and Liability Disclaimer.

I charge a flat session fee which includes a pre-set sitting time frame, a flash drive with pictures, a pre-set qty of edited pics, and anything else we mutually agree on.

Normal packages are listed on the homepage, but I am happy to create a custom package that works for both of us.

A 50% session fee is due 24 hours before the sitting date, with the balance due prior to delievry of any pictures/flash drive.

Transportation outside a 20 mile radius of Sparta, Michigan is extra, (see Travel & Transportation Costs below for details).

Clients must agree in writing to my Terms of Use and Liability Disclaimer as updated on this site.

I try to deliver within 2-3 business days.

If it takes longer than 10 business days, I’ll refund all payments and you still get all your pictures.

That’s fair, right?!

Of course.

If the session is cancelled a minimuim of 24 hours in advance, I’ll refund 100% of the deposit.

If the session is cancelled for any reason less than 24 hours in advance, up to 50% of the deposit may be refundable. I’ve set time aside for the session and potentially turned down other plans or opportunities, so I hope you understand.

I’ve shot all over Michigan and as far as Hawaii.

All locations within a 20 mile radius from my home base in Sparta, MI are included in the base fee.

FOR EXAMPLE:

If I travel to a location in Mt. Pleasant, MI, that is 70.6 miles (one way) from my home base..

I include 40 miles (20 mile radius one-way) in the flat fee, but will be driving 141.2 total miles (per GoogleMaps standard).

That is 101.2 extra miles.

The current business rate (as of June 2026) is $0.76 per mile x 101.20 = $76.91 extra billable transportation.

Depends on the situation, I guess.

If the session runs long because of my fault for some reason, like due to transportation, equipment, etc…, or in an Act of God, no extra charges are due.

If the session runs over the base timeframe and it is not my fault, (due to conditions of the client or others), we’ll switch to an hourly rate for any extra time, equal to 1.5 times the average rate for that scheudled session.

Time is rounded to the next 15 minute increment(s).

FOR EXAMPLE:

If a $100 2-hour session schedulked to end at 2:00pm actualluy ends at 3:10pm, because of client delays, in-session location changes, venue delays, or anything outside Matt’s control, that results in 1.25 extra hours @ $75/hour.

The session charge would be:
2-Hour Session Fee: $100
Extra Time: $75 × 1.25 = $93.75
TOTAL: $193.75
